AIRE
AIRE is the acronym for Anagrafe degli Italiani Residenti all'Estero, meaning the Registry of Italians Residing Abroad. Registration is mandatory for all Italian citizens who transfer their residency abroad for a period of at least 12 months.
Apostille
An Apostille is a certificate attached by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, confirming that a document has been signed by a notary public or other public official. It confirms that the notary public or public official is, in fact, a genuine notary public or public official authorised by the UK Government.
With an Apostille certification, a notarised/certified document is entitled to recognition in the country of intended use and there is no requirement for further certification or legalisation by the country.
Notarisation
A notarised document is one where the identity and signature of the signatory has been verified by reference to original photographic identity documents and witnessed by a Notary Public at the time of signing.
